QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS ABOUT BEESILK LOTION BARS:
"I live in PA. My hands & finges are already splitting. It hurts so bad! I wash my hands a lot! Will this truly help?"
My (Renee's) hands and fingers were constantly in bandages from all the splits and cuts... every time I washed my hands, I'd have to apply new bandages. These lotion bars are the ONLY remedy for my skin. We have over 7,500 reviews on our website and many of our customers have been with us for over 10 years. "Is this greasy at all?"
Most customers report that it absorbs right in and isn’t greasy. You can look through the reviews to see how it works for people.
"Can I use it on my cracked lips?"
Absolutely! We also have natural lip balm for that (same ingredients, different ratios).
"Does is have a fragrance? Or unscented?"
Beesilk is unscented. We do have scented lotion bars as well.
"What is the difference between Bee Silk and Bee Silk Jr?"
Both have the same ingredients but Beesilk Jr is softer (less beeswax) to make it easier to apply as an all-over body emollient. The Beesilk lotion bar is best for hands and feet.
"I don't care for the scent of shea butter, is it a strong odor in this?"
We use a naturally refined shea butter so the smokey odor you're referring to does not come through in our bars. You'll only notice a slight beeswax/honey aroma.
"How often do you have to apply if your skin is only slightly dry? And then about how long would a full size bar last? Is it really non oily?"
I would say only as needed... maybe every other day in your case. Then a full size bar would easily last 2 months. Nope, not oily at all.
"I have a tree nut allergy - this product has coconut oil."
It also has shea butter, which comes from the shea nut. However, our customers with nut allergies have not reacted to the shea or the coconut (in the case of the latter, coconuts can be defined as a seed or a fruit or a nut.)
"Does it stain clothing or sheets from the oils?"
It's best if you rub it into your skin really well before putting on your clothes. As long as you either massage it in well, or don't apply too much, you'll be fine. Some people will apply it generously before bed and if this is the case, I'd lay on a towel to not get it on the sheets.
"Do you know what its melting point is? I would love to be able to keep in my car, but our summers get toasty here."
That's a great question. If you leave the lotion bar exposed to the sun in direct heat exceeding 100 degrees, it can begin to soften. However, when in the tin, inside a purse or glove compartment, it won't melt even in a hot car. Only when it's directly exposed to the sun. We ship all year round, including our 115+ degree days and they're fine in shipment.
"I came for this comment. Love the ingredients, but everything else I've had with the same ingredients melt."
Likely because there wasn't enough beeswax in it. And if it had water as an ingredient, that introduces a lot of other issues. Having more beeswax may mean an extra 20 seconds to apply it to the skin, but it's also the beeswax that makes the other ingredients last in the skin all day long. No need to re-apply several times a day.
"Will this melt in shipping if I live in the 7th circle of hell...I mean Texas?"
