BLAZING HOT SUMMER TEMPERATURES....

The #1 question we get this time of year:


Will my products melt in the heat?

It's a good question...

When people imagine products made with butters and oils, it's an obvious concern. Kind of like shipping a chocolate bar in 110 degree weather, not to mention the hot, metal mailbox it could be sitting in all afternoon.


So... in the 15+ years we've been in business, we've tested and near-perfected it to make sure your products look the same when they arrive to you as they do when they ship out from here.


Part of that means that we add a tad more beeswax during the summer to accommodate the heat.

SHOP OUR SUMMER SKIN CARE PRODUCTS

Skin Care Products when it's hot:

  • Keep the lotion bars and lotion sticks from direct sunlight. If they're kept in their tins, inside a bag or purse, then they'll be fine even when in a hot car.

  • Simply Shea Facial Emollient and Simply Soothing Rash Cream should be kept in a cool, dry environment. Try not to let these be exposed to high heat or the structure of the product may change.

  • Beesilk Jr, Second Life Hair Butter, soap, shampoo, lip balms and the rest of the products should all be fine if exposed to some warm temperatures but again, keep them out of direct sunlight.


How about shipping? Will the skin care products melt?

When our temperatures hit 120 degrees like they did in early July, we do make sure to 1.) check in with customers to make sure everything arrived in satisfactory condition and 2.) if something doesn't arrive in perfect condition, we fix that by offering a refund, gift card or replacement.

I surveyed over 100 customers after experiencing a week of 115-120 degree heat in our city and only 2 people had an issue with a product coming to near-melting point and solidifying again during shipping.
